CRUTCHES NEEDED FOR HERALD'S HANDICAPPED DESK

Here's another pic from a batch of scans one of our readers sent us. Allow us to thank this chum for his help... May your breed increase.
Look guys, there are a couple of funny things here. There's not many times when you get to see mistakes which have some sort of a co-relation? We are pretty fortunate to have one here. You see the header there? The mistakes so obvious ain't it? And its such a thick font that even Sergio through his soda bottle lenses should have spotted this one.
Once you've seen this. Just dip your sight a bit. The second line in the caption. See how the word Brail is written? Give these guys some upwards perforated keyboards... Guys, who cant 'see', cant be expected to write BRAILLE, now would they?

God, I really think this newspaper needs infrastructure in their office for the visually and the grammatically challenged!

The Herald has always been a disabled friendly paper. What can you expect with a soda bottled lens stooge like Sergio for a news editor or an advertising salesman like Joel as deputy news editor? Even if you gave Sergio a magnifying glass he wouldn't be able to find any errors in the photo caption.Joel probably hasn't even realised upto this day that the photograph does not figure an inset at all. It is fools like these who get their salaries raised every year by Rs 5,000 by the ignorant MD.
Sergio makes close to Rs 30,000 for just drawing up the timetable and making sure he never has to layout a page. Joel gets a Rs 25000package for fetching advertisements
and ensuring that management instead of incumbent editors decide on editorial policies. Sergio and Joel are among the six who recently got a salary hike. The other four being Francis Ribeiro, Vijay D'Souza, Melvyn Mesquita and Guilherme Almeida. What have the subs got by way of increased remuneration I inquire. They are stuck in the same salary slot that they were in five years ago. With each sub saddled with editing and laying out three pages, its obvious that glaring mistakes like these are going unnoticed. That's a trend that's bound to continue, thanks to Francis Ribeiro who destroyed the hierachical news desk system in the Herald. Choppy's new system has rendered the chief sub's post redundant. So a verbal catastrophe is inevitable.
Poor Ashwin Tombat he is unaware that he is being misled by a pair of useless crutches--Sergio and Joel.Someone please call him and sound him about this warning on Penpricks.

Shut up... You are just a loser, that never deserved a raise anyway. The reason Choppy got the raise he so deserved was because he brings more to the table than all of you pricks put together. The reason that Herald sucks is because of all the internal politics that you all promote. Your salary as of today is more than what you actually deserve. Besides you are unethically bringing your employer to a lot of disrepute.

Instead of continously cribbing about the bad pay policies of the Herald and the lack of infrastructure the current subeditors/seniorsubeditors/chiefsubeditors should look towards better prospects. Because nothing will change in the Herald.
Haven't good journalists like Ashley, Agnel, Roger, or Cosme left the ramshackle newspaper and are doing very well for themselves.
Looks like herald does not deserve good journalists.

Any vacancies in Herald?

To the Shut up loser anonymous.
What makes you say that Choppy deserves a raise while the others do not? Has the Herald management greased your palms to speak in their defense? For your information, your chum Choppy works one day a week and rests the other seven on some pretext or another. He couldn't possibly bring more bring more to the table. Don't forget that Choppy too promotes internal politics. His camp is the pro-Sergio, anti-Joel camp. What about Joel and Sergio do they bring more to the table? If you can justify a raise for them, justify a raise for the others. Before you wriggle your finger in Choppy's rectum and cuddle against Raul's scrotum, please check the ground realities yourself. Perhaps you are among those who got a raise and the Herald management has given you an ALD. Use some tissue dude, not your tongue to wipe out the muck Raul has left behind.

Digu's hand picked Chief Officer N.D. Agrawal just loves to build infrastructure. Why? Well, everybody knows why!

Why does a new compactor truck and a sweeping machine lie unutilised?

His salary, vehicle running cost and pension contribution is paid for by the M.M.C.. So, why does Mr. Agrawal not record the time of his own daily attendance on the electronic device?

He has inherited from his predecessors a huge burden of uncollected house taxes. It has become difficult to even pay up the workers. Does he have the guts to collect this money? If yes, then may I suggest he starts with the big fish. UGDP supremo, Adv. Radharao Gracias, owns an office cum residence in Pacheco Apts., on Varde Valaulikar Rd. (Just ahead of Gaylin Chinese Restaurant). He owes the Municipality in excess of Rs. 10,000 (without taking into consideration the interest factor). Will Agrawal act?

An advice to the Herald Sub-Editors

No salary hike then stop editing start dumping so that Sergio can take up the cause for the sub editors salary hike and not just talk behind the back that reports are not being edited. For Sergio never appreciates the work done by a sub editor no matter the number of pages he does, his time and efforts. sergio start voicing for the good of others not for your selfish benefits.

For the anonymous who claims that Choppy does not deserve a raise...

You are just a douche bag that instead of taking pride in your work (and actually doing it) are out in the open backstabbing your employer. I do wonder why they even pay you a salary, when all you do is point your chubby fattened fingers (lard that has accumulated from you not moving your fattened butt, to get some real interesting reports)Even if Choppy works for 1 day... he delivers the goods... which is more than what you do. Dont even point a finger at Sergio, you lamer... You are just nothing... you know that?

To the anonymous who claims Choppy deserves a raise.

Are you Choppy or Choppy's sanitary napkin. Perhaps you resemble one:short, stout and slimy. Nobody who is consistently inconsistently deserves a raise. And almost everybody in the Herald has produced one time wonders. And since when has Choppy got lards of interesting reports? Most of his reports are PR and self interest stories.
Why be so defensive about Sergio.Sergio got the post of news editor because Choppy handed it over to him on plate, not because he merited it, but Choppy wanted to have it easy without any responsibilities. Don't give me that shit that Sergio is an okay chap.
