IDLE WORSHIP

Caption: An Indian priest decorates the idols of Hindu God Lord Krishna (C), Radha (R) and Chaitnaya Prabhu (L) for the Janmashtami - the birthday of Lord krishna - celebrations at the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Hyderabad.

Here's what happens when you work mechanically. Like a zombie. You know the cut-and-paste-no-thought-applied sort. Here's a photograph that appeared in the Herald today. It shows a priest decorating idols of Lord Krishna on the occasion of Janmashthami. This looks like an AFP caption going by the picture accompanying it. But look at the caption again... it's probably written by a firang working at the AFP desk. But does it really make sense in an Indian newspaper? Look at this... An 'Indian' priest? And what's this? A 'Hindu' god? Understood the paper caters largely to a Christian audience in Salcete, but the caption does look extremely out of sync.

Hey pricks, you are bang on the target. Me think these guys are clerks working in the much maligned Herald. No journalistic instincts there only mere dodos waiting to get the pay-packet by the end of the month.
cheers, love this site man, enjoying it.

Herald has a fortnightly magazine for international readers.

They mail it.

Goa, according to the Tourism Department, is an international tourist destination. Perhaps they have used those words deliberately, taking into consideration these readers.

Or like you suggest, just a shabby copy-paste-print job.
