Please add one more category to the list: The outstanding "Chamcha No 1" in the media.
If accepted, many will volunteer with nominations in this category. So come on Penpricks what are you waiting for?

In the 'ADMINISTRATION' category, I presume you are talking about 'BUREAUCRATS'

Here are some sub categories for it
a) Media Management - For a bureaucrat who can twist the media to suit his own ends. A chap who can project the image of being a 'victim', when he actually is not.

b) Pass the buck - For the chap who can manage to get himself transferred, in such a manner so that his successor has to clear the mess he leaves behind.

c) Plum/wet posting expert - For the guy who can manage to always get this one.

d) Thankless worker - For the chap whom the media does not know (or perhaps doesn't want to know for he offers no CCOC), but works hard and efficiently within the framework of the job.

In the JUDICIAL category

Sub categories could be

a) Greasy Judge - For the judge who accepts bribes for passing cases in your favour. (This includes inventory proceedings judges too)

b) Cunning clerk - For the clerk in the High Court who manages to see that your file comes for hearing only when pliable judges are posted on rotation.

c) Victory lawyer - For the lawyer who seldom loses a case, by hook or by crook.

Dear Penpricks

I would suggest that Man of the Year award besides being the Big Prick should go to Robbing Abreu and First Runners-Up to his boss Rahul Fernandes. From Plagiarizing to publishing advertorials, news goof ups, gross mistakes and silly item being given prominence. He also deserves kudos for promoting unprofessional writers as columnist in the Editorial pages. Instead of concentrating the up-gradation of the newspaper he got more involved in petty disputes with his colleagues and juniors.

Robin deserves this award because he has made the Herald World a happy place for his boss to function as per his dis-hires. Robin was hired more to do the work of a damager to the staff rather than an Editor to a Newspaper. But finally truth prevailed. Robin tried different medicines on different people but fate struck him after he had to taste his own medicine. Presently cooling his heels in some remote corner of Goa, I feel it would be right for penpricks to honour him at their NITE and crown him for his glorious and illustrious stint in Herald to revive his oblivion. Even Penpricks will have some news for its blog and Robin will always remain in limelight.
