'SURAJ' KA SAATVA GHODA -- WHEN NEWSPAPER'S LIE

The Navhind Times and Herald editions today have lied to you.
They have concealed/tampered information which was available to them and tried to mislead their readers to protect one of their own.
To cut a long story short, the Hyundai Accent car which knocked down the notorious Babani Sheikh was owned by a reporter working for the Herald newspaper Chotu alias Suraj Nandrekar from Taleigao.
Both The Navhind Times and the Herald have taken pains to ensure that the real/full name does not get carried in their editions. While The Navhind Times has tampered with the name and has scrambled the real name Suraj Nandrekar to 'Suraj Nandesh'. The newspaper has described him as an employee of a 'private firm' in the city. While Herald on the other hand
has jumbled up Suraj Nandrekar as 'S Nandrekar'.
Suraj currently is employed with the Herald as a reporter. He was former with the Gomantak Times, which is the only English language daily to have reported the name correctly.
Compare this fact-tampering with the outrage and barrage in the Sushant Naik hit and run case. Journos held dharnas and what not to ensure that the cops tracked down the car which knocked Sushant down. And in this case, when a vehicle owned by a journos knocks down a man (oh...a proclaimed goonda in this case) these two newspaper have tried to hide the trail from the readers.
Its really ugly. It would have been so much simpler had the newspaper interviewed Suraj on the issue. The issue ought to be taken seriously, cause Suraj has in the past been unabashed supporter Babush alias Atanasio Monserrate, which considering the nature of this particular incident does no really bode well.
If you are convinced with what we’ve written out here, do call these newspapers up and speak your mind to them. Ask them why they have tampered with facts? Place your protest on record. Or you could also call them, if you want to listen to their side of the story... here are their numbers...

fine the newspapers have tried to play hide & Seek, what is important is to check if the owner of the vehicle has any role to play in the incident.
you cannot just blame anyone, if I took Mr M gun and fired at someone would you say that M has murdered someone.

There was another drunkard journo who had hired 2 minor prostitutes in panaji and taken them to his residence at Monte hill, borda, margao. This incident happened soon after the launch of the Goan Observer and was reported by it.

Desai's father, who is a retired forest officer was away during the time of the incident.

One of the girls ran away from this abusive journo and was found by a police officer loitering on the streets that night. On questioning she revealed that her accomplice was still with Desai.

The journo went into hiding. The case was hushed up.

The tragic part of the story is that the girls were living in a room separated form their mother. The mother knew about their location, but did not inform the cops about the run away kids. There were many mobiles found. Many had inciminating numbers of powerful people.

Neither the mother nor journo were prosecuted for aiding and abetting this criminal activity.

Penpricks, wouldn't it have been better, if you had provided us with Suraj's telephone number, in addition to those of newspapers?

Anonymous no 3 is referring to Sameer Desai. Incidentally, when things got too hot for Desai... he was protected by GT Vasco correspondent Dileshwar Naik.
Penpricks, confrim this with senior journos in GT like Vithaldas Hegde, or Goa Doot Director Jyoti Dhond (former GT reporter) who will vouch for this info.

Penpricks, here is some info on the Goan journo circuit.
Mahesh Konekar(ex Tarun Bharat Margao) is to join Gomantak as its Margao bureau chief. Looks like these guys are bent on giving Gomantak's Margao based reporters a shot of adrenalin.

hey Pricko

We Know you have Hatred for Suraj alias Chotu. You wanted him out of Herald and when he left you were full of Joy, now that he is back to Herald you are all out to get his B...s. we see no fault of his in renting out his car, its his business and yours is to screw other people's happiness- that's your "business"
