the dalal has been beaten at his own game... He has been whoring his wares for Zuari and others... remember the scam behind the SARs campaign... and who can forget the latest lakhapati "donation" on his last birthday... greedy cat! Shame on him!!
Rajan Narayan has no moral right to complain about integrity honesty bla blah blah. He has been playing dirty tricks for a long time and has already sold himself to the 'powers that be' for 3000 pieces of silver a long time ago.
I am happy that some capable journos in Goa will make some money.
Rajan Narayan's Stray Thoughts are fantastic only as far as the Times of India goes. On his staff quitting, no employer can force an employee to stay on. Whatever may be their intentions and their cut-throat marketing style, Times starting their edition in Goa is indeed a blessing in disguise for Goa journos. It is because of ToI, all journos working for English newspapers are getting a fairly better salary. They were taken for granted all these years as their managements were flying high with huge profits got from hard toil of their employees who were given only the crumbs. Anyway, Rajan has shown guts to take on the Times in his inimitable style. ToI may now be compelled to do something for Goa.
In which grade/Class of the Manasina Wage Board is Rajan Narayan's Goan Observer classified? What does he pay his staffers? How much of the Rs 30-odd lakh that he got on his last birthday, much of it for the 'valiant' (sic) journalism of the Goan Observer, has he shared with his employee journalists who have also contributed to what GO is today? Rajan Narayan is known to appropriate the journalistic exploits of his colleagues. Remember the Varca Land Scam? The story was the fruit of painstaking investigation by the late Norman Dantas. But Rajan tom-tommed it as his own scoop. There are innumerable such examples. After all he is a Keralite ghanti. And, however much that Dr Oscar Rebello, Arvind Bhatikar, Dr Francisco Colaco and their ilk may scream that he's more Goan than us Goans, he will remain a GHANTI all his life.
To Anon at 30 April 2008 01:48 BTW, how did you forget Rajan's compatriot Preetu Nair( a fellow Keralite and 'MOG ASUNDI FAME'Miguel Braganza's friend? What say you?
