चिठ्ठी ना कोई 'संदेश'... कहाँ वो चले गये!!!

Hey... heard this some days ago... do tell us if you have any more dope on this.
Sandesh Prabhudessai is parting ways with Sunaparant and is likely to join the Timblo run Prudent media. Does anyone know why? Was it just a professional move? Or were there any issues. We did write Sandesh a mail asking him to confirm this bit of news a couple of days ago, but there has been no response from him.
One thing must be granted to the bugger... Sunaparant did look good under Sandesh than under any other editor before him, whether it was Raju Nayak or the highly over-rated Uday Bhembre... The layouts were cool and some of the stories pretty much out of the box. In short, Sandesh had managed to push out that atmosphere of monotony, which vernacular newspaper are generally associated with.
But there are some things which we think he should not have indulged in. For example allowing a lot of his friends to roll on his pages in the manner Phantom and Diana used to roll on the half gold and half sand beaches of Keela-Wee beach (you guys don't know this? check this link)... With Sandesh joining Prudent you are no longer going to read about the exploits of guys like Satish Sonak, Dharmanand and the other slick tongued species, you are going to see them henceforth. Hey, you may even see live footage of Ashwin Tombat swimming the Mandovi next time round on Prudent, i.e. if HCN forgets to cover it.
We heard another tidbit guys vis a vis an editor guys, and this comes not from the horse's mouth, but from the mouth of the groom who cares for this testosterone charged stallion. Some months ago, an editor of an English language newspaper was about to be sacked by the management for a nefarious act, the editor was accused of having committed. The editor apparently went on leave and guess what, a few days later the owners of this newspaper received a call from a Central minister dealing in mines, asking these guys to 'review' their decision. No surprises as to what happened next.

Simple. Awdhut Timblo was toying with the idea of owning a Satellite Channel for a long time and he's in talk with STV Networks for taking over Goa News and Sandesh Prabhudessai holds the key to the website "GoaNews". If that isn't enough Sandesh Bhai who used to tomtom his support for GBA against RP 2011 even being present personally for their rally's is maintaining a calculative silence on Mining for which GBA is currently gunning. From Salgaocars to Timblos, Sandesh has shown the way to the NextGen Journos in Goa ;-)

And making nonsense of that famous PSU(Progressive Students Union of the 1980s) slogan as well....Utt Goenkara, Jaago zaa Goenkara, UZO zaa Goenkara.
Is duniya mein na Baap bada na Bhaiyaa, Sabse Bada Rupaiyya! Hai naa Sandesh(Bhai)?

I know politics makes strange bedfellows....but the Media!!!!!!
Heard that Sujoy Gupta has quit NDTV and joined the Timblos as "Consulting Editor" for Prudent. So what, will Sandesh do at Prudent??
Indeed, Media too makes strange bedfellows.

Sandesh did a great job at Sunaparant, but he has a disproportionate impression about himself as a TV personality.
His Dhirio moderating sucks but his close friends do not tell him about it. So he has moved on to showing his mug on Prudent. Not a prudent decision for sure.
His brother lost a lot of money in producing a film casting himself as a hero! Maybe it runs in the Prabhudesai parivar.

But the bigger question is who will fill up Sandesh's boots at Sunaparant? Dilip Borkar or Sanjiv Verenkar?

Yaar Penpricks, things are falling into place if you guys can just read between the lines. Watch how Sandesh Prabhudesai started off with his drab and boring DHIRIO on Goa Plus - a channel owned by his fellow Konkani comrade-in-arms Shyamsunder. Not stopping at that, the next move by Sandesh(BHAI) was to move his blue-eyed boy and fellow Canaconite Pramod Acharya to Sunaparant(Panaji) from Margao to eventually groom him for a place in CNN-IBN. And once GOA NeEWS died a premature death, Sandesh(BHAI) coaxed Timblos(fellow Konkani protagonists) into converting PRUDENT into a satellite channel and waved his credentials of 'DHIRIO' to support his case for the top slot there. An easy job for Sandesh(BHAI) - surrounded as he is at Prudent by the likes of Arvind Bhatikar, Datta Naik, Rajan Narayan, etc; the same big mouths he hung around his neck like an albatross during his stint at Sunaparant.
P.S. Pleas read this comment in tandem with Pramod's comment(15 May 2008 16:10) on this very post.

The social crusader Sandesh Bhai hardly writes on indiscriminate Mining and illegal constructions and their danger to Goa.
