IT HAPPENED AT NIGHT... SUDDENLY... HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO USE A FLASH

Goa Doot photographer Sushant Naik met his end a couple of days back, after a speeding vehicle knocked him down at Altinho, Panaji in the dead of the night.
The lanky Sushant was knocked off his scooter and died of severe head injuries. But we really do not know if it was necessary for the Herald to fit this line in their report

‘They said the front portion of Naik’s head was split after the impact.’

Sushant learnt the ropes of photography in The Navhind Times where his father Sunil, also a photographer, used to get his photos published. Despite his intent, Sushant could never really graduate into a good photographer and was stuck into the ‘look-there’s-a-broken-transformer’ or ‘hey-there’s-a-flagstone-missing-in-the-pavement’ genre. We ran a small piece on him some time back…

Perhaps he would have worked on it. He was 25… He had time on his hand, until it got knocked out of his palm and slipped onto the tar, where he lay sprawled in the cold night.

Sushant's passing is a grim reminder that the ol' ticker in each one of us is going to stop one day.

Even if medical science can prolong life, it just cannot stop an accident.

I do agree with anonymous 1

Please don't make or pass remarks to persons who have died.

Let God take care of them. Not Penpricks

What's wrong with talking proven truths about the dead? The money I use has the pic of a dead soul!
If anyone has issues using currency having pics of the dead then please give it away!

What about the busts/ statues dotting the State? Should they be destroyed? Don't they remind you of the dead?
The dead need to be respected as much as those who are alive.

If you read yesterday's newspaper you will find that the Indian Parliament is passing legislation to ensure that children do not abandon their parents.

The old, Special Needs and dead persons should not be reduced to a mere 'economic' value. Doing so would take us on the evil highway of communism and National Socialism(NAZI).

Opinion is one page of a Book, criticism is another but above all due respect has to be given to the dead.

But if the person who has died or expired is a person like Arun Sinha or Vaman Naik then I definitely agree that this type of person deserves not just criticsm but can be condemmed even after death.

Revolting as it may sound, Arun & Vaman are innocent until proven guilty in Court.

That's the law in India.

The High Court has already directed the government to file charges against Arun.

As far as Vaman is concerned : The Goa State Commission for Women has already submitted a report about his mis-conduct.
