IDENTITY CARD JOURNALISM

Das Munshi swipes
If Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Das Munshi is to be believed, many TV reporters are exploited by their channels and paid not salaries, but by vouchers. On World Press Freedom day the good minister was in his element, lambasting both media owners and media practices, such as taking a 28-second Gere-Shetty kiss and showing it 20,29,48,100 times. This is called journalism, he huffed. (courtesy www.thehoot.org)

--- Can anyone write back as to how much a mofussil correspondent in Goa gets paid these days? Navhind times used to pay em by the column inch till sometime back, while others used to follow the column-centimetre norm.
