AT HOME WITH NEWS

Hi guys... We are a day late from our hiatus... sorry bout that.
Here goes... Have you heard this stuff. Apparently there's this ruckus at the office of Goanews in Porvorim. Line have been drawn and trenches dug. The struggle's between the Goan and the non Goan camp. The former led by ever suspect Sachin Borkar and the other by Ajay Thakur. And the cause for the struggle... Sandesh Prabhudessai listen to this one... GOAN OSMITAI.
The channel started by some mysterious North Indian deep pocket entrepreneur is rife with discontent. So much so that Goa's first 24 hour news channel can actually use some of the ugly happenings in their office for telecast.
Goans in the channel complain they are being ignored and pushed around by the North Indian lobby headed by Ajay Thakur. The North Indian lobby claims that the Goan employees in the channel shirk work and are not fitting into a 'news channel' profile.
Something will give way here. The only gripe we have here is that we have a guy like Sachin Borkar leading a good cause.

Ha, Ha. [IF YOU HAVE THE B***S then publish this]
For once Pen Pricks showed that the underbelly is nothing but some holier than thou, self gratifying fools who'd rather be selling lottery tickets at KTC than come up with something constructive. And if this is that BIG SCOOP that You promised then we'd rather prefer the staid "goanjourno.org". Ok Sachin Borker, the Guy who has 20+ non bailable warrants pending in Margao & Old Goa Police Station definitely isn't the best role model for GOAN OSMITAI. As for the Goan & Non Goan Feud, hello, PI Narvekar @ Porvorim PS has a list of 135 Goans against 20 "Non Goans". Come on Man, we are in India, Your basic xenophobic attitude stinks. Come up with something better. Sachin Borker (don't make him a a role model for Goa please, has a Kannada Wife, is a President of Journalist Union of "Maharashtra" & speaks only in Hindi even to Goenkars) embezzled Goa News of 35 lakhs in three months. HE WAS KICKED OUT. And that is why the disclaimer one saw on the Channels. STOP FOOLING NETIZENS. I used to respect You for your no-holds-barred approach, even we know what goes inside Goan Journalism.

this is not the big story we said was coming... Hang on... and if you wish try and look up the dictionary for the word 'gripe'... If you wish to i.e.

'Gripe'...for chrissake...Your blog actually makes a hero (read: Goan Osmitai!) out of Sachin Borkar. That is what stinks and you talk of 'gripe'. Gandhiji had once said that a postcard is the deadliest weapon on the planet...you can malign many & any-one guess that is what you are doing here with your blogspot. I dunno this other (Ajay!) Chap but as for your blog (You do seem to me like a practising journalist) as a Communication Man I can definitely tell You that it definitely made Sachin Borker a hero. As for Goa News, why don't You drop in over there and get the facts right. At times, as a Television Reporter would tell You, doing an on site reporting makes more sense than sitting in a couch and hacking away feverishly on your keyboard sourcing dope from hearsay

GOA NEWS is an illegal channel. Just because it was inaugurated by a 'powferful' person doesn't mean a thing.

They have kept the people surrounding their noisy generator, sleepless since it's inception. This leads to poor productivity and health problems. Lack of concentration in studies, hence poor school performance, resulting in diminished potential of good non agricultural jobs.

That channel has to relocate away from domestic houses.

I remember a news reader announcing that one Sachin Borkar tried to forcibly enter their premises and that he is no longer associated with them since the 23rd of August.
This is the first time I have ever heard a TV news station announce such a trivial matter as a news item. Have you ever heard the BBC or CNN make a news story, about one of its employees. It's ludicrous.

Goa can always move in lines with J&k, the north eastern states as well as the Andaman Islands for the sake of Osmitai.

Rupesh Samant: I have that on the floor of my house, instead of floor tiles.

Do you have a problem with that?

GOA NEWS...an illegal Channel. Check the Goa Newsline, Goa 365, Goa Plus, Prudent, IN Goa & Oh yeah, HCN. Are You from India or some jingo land who feels Goa is a part of netherworld. We have some rules, some law and a Constitution my friend. The Ministry of I&B have given those guys a license (check the I&B website) and not those usual dose of shit that You watch everyday...the ones that was mentioned earlier.

As for the loss of productivity, one feels amazed how a retired neighbourhood past its prime is preparing for board exams. Come on, all of us know who lives in that part of Journalist Colony (retired Journalists...still working out of their homes & guys steeped in illegalities). And yes, there are automobile garages, another genset, et all Why don't You watch those?

As for the comparison to BBC & CNN hey You DON'T COMPARE AN ILLEGAL CHANNEL WITH SUCH STALWARTS DO YOU? The report as we watched talked about his driver forcing himself in and not Sachin Borker. As for the poor miserable soul Borker, all of us in the newspaper industry saw him coming in with illegally stolen letterheads proclaiming he was still in charge. People working in BBC & CNN don't resort to such atrocious behaviour.

And finally, my friend, that was really ridiculous You ACTUALLY THINK THAT WE GOANS ARE LIKE J&K, NORTH-EAST...Disturbed, Terror stricken, Gobbling human lives...all in the name of OSMITAI. Hey, did You miss the last plane to Portugal in 1961........

Certain laws don't apply to J&K, north east and the islands. Specifically, laws relating to purchase of property.

States are carved out based on liguistic and cultural factors.

Try speaking to someone in Hindi in Tamil Nadu/Kerala, the reaction says it all.

The illegitimate children sired by WP (name clipped) have grown and sported wings!
Look at the bhav the man himself commands! He swindled money and material from several TV channels to start his own racket and now Chief Ministers of all hues are showering WP with money.
Obviously, everyone wants to emulate WP. Including the bhailes newly parachuted into Goa!

It’s surprising that Penpricks, which is aimed at “ discovering the rotund flanks and the shaggy underbelly of the Goan media & the rare honest rib”, is gradually degenerating into a forum for fanning regional feelings. Insider and outsider syndrome is afflicting pen pricks, which is getting sucked into petty politics.
Please stick to the agenda. Pen pricks has a long way to go.

Its not our failing, that we have a sense of humour. Whether its media, religion, region, caste... we will underline these issues with humour. We believe we have not been regionalistic in this entry. Some of the readers maybe so taken up by the 'OSMITAI' bit, that they missed the humour in it.

Do you want to experience OSMITAI? Visit the airport once the charter flights start.

You will notice that the porters virtually snatch the bags from white tourists, ingnoring the asian and black ones.

Look at them and hear their language... it will make sense to you.

Anon 1: [IF ... THE B***S ... publish this]

R u saying that persons who don't have them are less capable than those who have?

I'll give u examples
1. A south-goa minister's sister is in aguada jail for murdering her husband!

2. who killed a former prime minister?

3. do u have issues with the person who carried u around before u wore diapers & probably cleaned them for ya ?

4. who is the president?

5. Are you saying that the goan athlete who committed suicide because s/he had klinefelter syndrome deserved to die?

The next time u bring that issue up I might target them, like I do in billiards. I assure u it will hurt!!!!
