ON A SERIOUS NOTE...

This bit of information has disgusted us no end.
Believe us if you wish to guys, but we received this input from one of our readers about a fortnight ago. The last two weeks all of us pricks spent corroborating this disturbing input from various sources, checking and cross-checking details each time.
We thank the reader who tipped us off about this…
A top functionary of a supposed-to-have-been-launched news channel has been sexually harassing women staffers. This news channel -- which is a sister concern of an English newspaper which penpricks really has a fondness for – which we are talking about has seen the unfortunate departure of the girl in question after consistent harassment from the middle-aged bachelor boss.
It goes this way.
The young girl – who was a part of a talent pool of fresh, inexperienced news-readers -- was being harassed by this top executive, who keeps asking her out to dinner or late evening walks with irritating regularity, despite her consistent refusal to play along.
Things came to such a pass that he would call her up on pretext of work and start flirting with her. The victim then complained to the concerned authorities, which the channel and the newspaper both share. The editor was also informed by the girl about the harassment at work.
Nothing much happened.
The girl finally quit the organisation in disgust about 20 odd days ago.
But her departure hasn’t altered things much at her workplace.
Another woman reporter has now become the target for our balding boss. The last we heard of, was when this girl -- who incidentally seems to have more spunk than the one who quit – put her foot down when the boss asked her wear revealing clothes while doing a PTC for a beach related story.
This is a serious guys.
We are very sorry for the fact, that we avoided using names here. There has been no written complaint from both the newsreader who quit and the reporter who is now in the top executive’s crosshair. In the first case, both the concerned departments and the Editor were informed by the victim orally.
It would be asking a lot, of you guys to simply believe what we’re saying here. We implore you to check things up using your own resources. Readers who have so diligently followed this blog would surely know by now, which organisation we are talking about.
We know what we have written is true and was something which had to be spoken. Hence we have.

What is a realistic solution pen pricks?

Will filing a complaint at the women's police station help?

Can our lady MLA do something ?

What is the time frame of justice ? Is it forthcoming ? Or will it be caught (as usual) in an infinite process?

(You guys have used the term 'PTC' in your post. I cannot figure out it's full form)

I guess, the immediate body which could do something is GUJ. Goa Union of Journalists...

PTC = Piece to camera. Its the TV equivalent of a byline in Print

GUJ? GUJ? Don't even think. The news channels are not part of GUJ. Also, they are illegal and whoever is joining them should do it at their own responsibility.

Keep it up penpricks, youll have been doing a great job. This is the first time youll have exposed a top functionary of a news channel sexually harrassing girls ( Girls from that organisation must be living in fear now. Few days back I was disgusted at your vengeanceful attitude against the Herald only, but now I personally feel penpricks is moving in the right direction.

Pen pricks, I think you might like to revise your comment (the one about GUJ doing something).

Please read your post dated 29 May 2007. The article is titled IDIOT BOX'ED'. The last paragraph reads "Of course a complaint was also submitted to the
toothless GUJ ,… "

So much for GUJ

Provide us with additional information regarding the incident, and the persons responsible in delaying or denying justice to the girl. We too can be of great help. Don’t stop there get that Guy’s head on a platter.

If this happens where all the laws of the land apply, I dread to even imagine what could happen in a SEZ. Here the State's laws don't apply !!!

Anon 5: Getting someones head on a platter (as you put it) is prevented by a process that is called Indefinite Postponement .

I think that Mr. Afzal, even after being found guilty by the SC remains alive due to indecision of the (former & possibly present)President.

The only person who I know who could deliver a head on the plate was Idi Amin... hehehe

If the GUJ is "toothless" and the courts take forever, then is it fair to conclude that this case is caught in a quagmire?

To prevent more persons from becoming victims, perhaps the channel should hire Philipino eunuchs and electronically alter their voices!!!

This issue needs to be kept alive till it's resolved.
Has anon 5 provided any credible leads to the case?
Any updates...??

We absolutely agree with you... Nope... Anon 5 hasn't sent us any more info on this... unfortunately we can't mention the victim's name on the blog... But if you have friends in the HCN, you could ask around... If you could track her down and maybe with the help of appropriate forums examine the matter thoroughly... We are also wishful that issue should be taken to its logical conclusion...
