TWO COMMENTS

Hi guys. These are two of the several comments we've received from our readers. The first is by former Gomantak Times editor Ashwin Tombat, who informs us that Leslie St Anne
does exist. Thanks for the input Ashwin. The second is a well written piece by anon...
BTW we are back guys... The small internet snag we had appears to have been sorted out thanks a ton for standing by us folks.

COMMENT
I do know a Leslie St Anne. He used to write occasionally for Gomantak Times when I was editor.

The piece is just a plug; I am not defending it. Just pointing out that Leslie St Anne is not necessarily a fake name. Unless, of course, someone else is using it to plug Neri.

Corruption in the other pillars of democracy starts at the very beginning. It is a kind of a welcome garland.

For instance in bureaucracy, the vast majority of applicants pay in cash or kind to a politician or a crony. This problem has become worse in the last decade and a half. Assuming that the reader's input is true, it appears that the rot has crept to this pillar too.
Unless you have been living on the moon, you wouldn't have come across this cancer. The only way to minimise it is to admit persons through a transparent system. This is the responsibility of individual media organisations. That's easier said than done!
Corruption in these 4 pillars is just a reflection of our society. People have to feel repulsed by it. And when that breaking point reaches, people will revolt. Revolution alone will bring about the beginning of the end.

I can back the statement of Mr. Ashwin Tombat.

There really does exist a Leslie St.Anne. Try it out ... visit www.google.com, type in leslie site:www.utsvoice.net press 'Enter'. The result Leslie St.Anne. C/o. 'Chateau Zito' House No. 823,. Bairo Primeiro, Assolna, Salcete , Goa - 403 701. Ph . : 2773284, 2775101, Mob. : 9822140001

I have with me a fortnightly (Vol III, Issue 17, July, 2007 (Second)) called UTS' VOICE (www.utsvoice.net). Turn to page 9,10 & 15. This St.Anne gives you 3 pages of unadultrated N.D. Agarwal.

Yes the same Agarwal (Digamber's man for Margao Municipal Council), was rejected by the councillors for his history and style of functioning.

Here is Leslie's description of Agarwal in italics.. with dogged determination and a sincerity of purpose ... Does 'sincerity of purpose' refer to Kickbacks?

He goes on There is a 'beacon of hope' for our 'Children of a lesser God' in the likes of women like Mrs. Vijyadevi Rane... Are these quotes of Mr. Agarwal. What do I say, just praise the mom/wife and the Minister/Speaker gives you plum postings eh?

Don't miss the pics of Agarwal. All this in the guise of helping the disabled. That one reality; but the reality behind the reality is that of kickbacks. I wonder what Leslie got ?
